 Preliminary High Priority Minefields in Thailand

Landmine Clearance in ThailandThailand Mine Action Center (TMAC) and the UNDP Mine Action Program in Thailand have prioritized the clearance to all minefields derived from the Locating Minefield Procedure (LMP). Minefields posing imminent threat to local people, and blocking development projects are receiving clearance priority, and so need immediat clearance. Please see list beow.

 Update of Landmine Clearance In Thailand

Landmine Clearance in Thailand
From the second half of 2007 to December 2009, Thailand Mine Action Center (TMAC) had conducted the locating minefield procedure (LMP) on landmine suspected hazardous area (SHA) of 2,570 sq. km. nationwide to locate real minefields for cost-effective clearance. The operation was supported by the Integrated Area Reduction Survey Project at Border Area with Cambodia (IARS) that the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) provided operational budget to help conduct LMP on SHA of about 1,941 sq. km2 in border area with Cambodia that contribute 80% of SHA nationwide.
